Niedługo po swojej premierze 6 września 1996 roku serial został okrzyknięty przez krytyków i fanów najlepszą animowaną wersją przygód Człowieka ze Stali. 18 sierpnia 1998 roku WB wydało film pod tytułem "The Batman / Superman Movie" na VHS i DVD. Film składał się z połączonej ze sobą trzyczęściowej historii "World's Finest" z drugiego sezonu serialu. W tej produkcji swego głosu Batmanowi użyczył Kevin Conroy a Jokerowi Mark Hamill - obaj znani z serialu "Batman: The Animated Series".

W jednym z epizodów swego głosu postaci Edwarda Nygmy aka Riddlera użyczył znany z serialu "Smallville" John Glover.
